Programmes

Everything we run is aimed at one result: more people with disabilities in paid work or running their own business.

Change Making

Our flagship programme, launched in July 2026: disability awareness, livelihood support, and mental health and emotional well-being.

Career counselling and job readiness

One-to-one counselling to match each person's education, skills and aptitude to a realistic career path. Resume writing with Braille reading support, interview practice, and mock interviews run with volunteers from ConnectFor. We are now making this a recurring programme with expert counsellors.

Skill training

Handmade jewellery, paper craft and fibreglass products, taught in weekly sessions. Online coaching for competitive exams and spoken English, with about 20 students in each course.

Trainees working on craft materials on the floor of the DAND workshop. Handmade necklaces and earrings made by DAND trainees on display. Two trainees at a DAND stall selling handmade jewellery and bags. A trainee holds up a beaded necklace he made.

First Step grants

Small grants for people with disabilities setting up their own business. Four people received the first grants in January 2020. We want to make this a yearly round.

Free legal advice

In 2021 we started free one-to-one online consultations with an advocate for people with physical disabilities in West Bengal. Write to us to ask about current availability.

Awareness and sensitisation

Disability sensitisation training for clubs and companies, sign-language videos made with GiftAbled and ConnectFor, and a YouTube channel on disability rights and everyday access.

Inclusive Hiring Conference

A one-day event in December 2026 that brings employers and job-ready candidates together. Ask about sponsoring or sending a hiring team.
